Whether it really is the manager’s personal vehicle or not I’ll never know but I’ve heard that line way too many times in dealerships for demos for it to be real.

Regardless if it’s the car you want in the right spec at the right price, go for your life! I don’t think you’d regret it at all.

There's a few still out there. Ordered one with Sunroof lapiz blue. Came from interstate with 11km. 64K Queensland should be cheaper. Demo no more than 62-63. 63 if it has sunroof

From all the interactions I had with dealers, there’s no way that thing is being thrashed without a person from the dealership knowing about it. But it’s always a concern I guess.

Heck, half the dealers I went into didn’t even want to talk price!

So I bought mine interstate, via email in less time than it took to drive to the local dealer, and for plenty less.

I reckon you hit up the enquiry in Carsales, but name your price or let them know your going to buy, all my enquiries went straight to the manager, and then they hand you off to the sales rep to get it sorted.

Also, brokers had zero capacity to get a Golf R at better than I could get online.

Re - Towbars for the 'R" ...

Guys ... has anyone heard it's officially illegal to fit a current model "R" with a towbar ? Here's cut 'n paste from a Hayman Reese rep I've been chatting to ...

Hi Stephen,

VW have not given the Golf R a tow rating which makes it illegal to put a towbar on the vehicle as it will cannot meet Australian Design Rules(ADR)

What Hayman Reece said is correct. Golf R hatch is not ADR approved for a tow bar so therefore cannot legally be fitted with one.

I'm sure this has been asked somewhere before... but does anyone have suggestions on oil for 7.5R? 5W-30 for cooler climates (Tasmania)?
