My mk 7 GTI with 18s has a fair bit of road noise.
As far as I am concerned the Conti's (not the 19 inch size) they come with make much more noise than the Michelin PSS on 19s that I am used to. Having said that the I only notice the noise with the windows down. Michelins will fix that when the time comes.

I'm thinking of going with PS4s when I need new boots... Great reviews on them including from mates with them on their cars - always a good starting point. Agreed the Conti's make a little noise on some coarse chip seal roads, but I find them pretty good in every other respect.

Would be tempted to throw PSC2s on there if it wasn't a daily for me, but would be changing them with alarming regularity if I did that I suspect...

I will be getting PS4s as well. I am not sure I can wait until I am in need of new tyres.

Yeah, PS4 are my target tyre. The PS2s were awesome on my old Golf.

Hi all any thoughts comments advice on the 7.5 Golf GTI, GTI Perf Ed 1 two door?

I understand the R can't take a tow bar which is a deal breaker.

I would take all options - I belive there are 3...Luxury, Infotainment and Driver Assist.
    TIA

    Hey Glee

I drove both the r 7.5 and gti 7.5 on monday down at phillip island

If your after the 3 door get in quick its only 150 in country and selling fast don't expect discounts on it tho they has one to look at but not drive and it does look nice if you can live with the 3 door setup 180kw and the 19 inch wheels+340mm brakes with the tricky diff and 7 speed dsg not sure about the towbar you would have to ask
Don't bother with the stock gti wait till the performance edition is going to be available if you want a gti i found it to be underwhelming thb the r is a nice car but i would want to drive it everywhere in race mode and get 19ltr /100k

If your after a towing car check out the diesel alltrack heaps of room and can tow lots and the diesel is quite punchy (alltrack 7.5 owner so biased opinion but it does get up and go well and the 7 speed would be better for towing higher torque rating and lower 1st gear)

Your quite correct tick all the options boxes if your not going to do that buy a runout mark 7 and save yourself some money the options are what set the 7.5 way above the 7
