Came from a MkV Gti, love the extra grunt and grip but not loving the bigger turning circle. Is this an R 'feature' or do MkVII golfs all have larger turning circles?

If it's just the R, what's causing this? Wider wheels on the front?

    Thanks,
    Rob

I didn't think it was too much worse than my Mk5 GT. It'll mostly be down to the 19" wheels and wider track. At least it's not as horrific as the Astra VXR or Focus ST!

Not so sure it's the 4WD. More likely to be reduced steering lock to fit the 19" wheels without rubbing the guards.

This article suggests it's 10.9m which is the same as the rest of the Golf range: Volkswagen Golf R 2015 Review - motoring.com.au

Picked up the R just before Christmas done 150 K so far pretty darn impressive a technological tour de force. Keep setting the drive mode to RACE and flicking the gear selector back to D love that exhaust note. Ride also high quality given the 19 inch wheels. I will have a decent drive later this week for more feedback.

Just one minor gremlin I noticed a slight vibration on bumpy roads sounded like it was coming from the steering wheel instrument cluster turned out to be the driver side sun visor above my head, in the closed position bouncing intermittently (hard plastic mirror cover touching the small light cover). The passenger side did not have a problem so will get it checked at 1500 K check some adhesive felt is a fix in the interim.

Hey rosslm, I have the exact same vibration! It is definitely the driver side sun visor. Mine even vibrates when I close the doors. The sound makes it feel a bit cheap. I'm going to try and put something between the sun visor and the roof to stop the vibration when I get back from holidays next week. I reckon the visor would be vibrating against either the light fixture or something to do with the visors connecting arm.

Before I do any adjustments, has anyone else had this problem? And has anyone been able to stop the rattling?

    Thanks!

I have the exact same thing on my MY16 GTI. You can hear the mirror cover hit the lamp cover when you close the visor, but it doesn't happen on the passenger side.

I took it in to the dealer last week to fix a sunroof creak and the visor vibration and they said they fixed it but it's exactly the same, so not sure what they actually did! It's going back in tomorrow to replace some brackets on the sunroof which they had to order so I'll get them to look at it again and report back.
