That's what I'd call a videoadvertorial — there'd have to be a quid pro quo?

With the increase in the LCT Threshold (up $1,300), they actually have more wiggle room now (to go higher, unfortunately). Last financial year there was an incentive to keep the price below $61,884 inc GST, otherwise the price jumps another 33%. But I'd still expect them to try and stay under $63,184. Lesson for next time: Whenever you put down a deposit, make sure it is subject to finance, test drive, agreed price etc.

I'm very impressed jacs! Did they have to order your car? I find it's a lot harder to bargain when they don't have the car lying around since it cost the dealer money for it to be lying around in finance, depreciation and space costs.

GoGTI, if you want the Golf R over the GTI PP, just push them using jacs tips. It's ludicrous they aren't more accommodating with you! I'd be outraged with that service especially since you haven't actually paid for the car yet.
p.s. I'm not totally up to scratch on the GTI PP, but if there have been any changes in cost (by VW) since the contract was signed, you should use that as your legal out to get your deposit back and go to a different dealer and get the R (for an acceptable price). Good luck GoGTI, either way both are awesome cars!

No, I odered it and waited about 3 months. But I think I read that quite often people would leave a deposit without having settled on a price, which I found ludicrous! !! Youve lost all your bargaining power.

Name the dealer and the manager. That way, we all know who to avoid. Hate arrogant people...especially in sales ...I walk straight out!

Does anyone know what the dealer invoice cost is for a DSG R?

I'm looking at buying a MY16 DSG with full options (DAP2 and Sunroof) or possibly a Wolfsburg in October and I want to know just how low I should be able to push the local dealers.

Currently seeing prices being quoted of around $63k for a DSG with all options or $65 for a Wolfsburg with all options.

I was hoping for closer to the $58-59k mark, is this possible or am I dreaming?

I was also offered an MY15 DSG with all options for $59k but I wouldn't pay near this amount for effectively last years model (MY16's will be on forecourts within the next 4 weeks).

so here is a review between the audi S3 and the BMW M235i however they mention a lot the golf R in the review and at the end (spoiler alert) they kind of prefer the golf R
