When in Individual mode with engine in sport, the throttle is much sharper. But only for a while. If you leave it permanently in that mode it softens off somewhat. A quick switch to Eco and straight back again and it's all different. I'm talking switching over and back while at the lights so it's not a perception thing. Anyone else noticed this?
No one really answered this last time so I'm bumping it. The Brits are noticing this issue too in both DSG and manual cars. As well as the throttle sharpness softening off it would seem that the exhaust isn't as loud either - more noticeable on the over run. The car changes to this 'half race' mode either with time or on restarting the engine. Pressing Race again changes it all back, it just won't stay there. It's like you can have Race mode, but only for a wee while. Same thing with putting the engine into sport mode via the individual button.

    Any takers on this?

Might need someone like guy harding to chime in as he being a tuner he may be able to provide some insight. Mine has had some apr love so I don't get any noticeable difference from normal to sport other than the louder exhaust. I do agree though that if engine is in sport mode for along time, I reckon it does get quieter.

I had a great surprise from my wife yesterday for my birthday, she asked me if she could borrow my car because someone at work wanted to see a Golf R to decide whether to get one or not, I say ok and we swap cars I got the Scirocco for the day, then she came back and I noticed something different in my car, it was Low... what ... yes VW racingline springs were installed in the car how cool is that...I love my wife.
I also like to thank all the guys at Harding Performance and Prestige&Performance for helping my wife with all this, I really liked it and certainly the car will look a lot better when the wheels arrive.

Sergio, that's some wife you have. Congratulations on your birthday. The lowered stance certainly looks great. The VWR springs you now have fitted have had mixed reviews regarding the preservation of the stock ride. I would be keen to hear your future views once you have got to know them better. Cheers.

If anyone needs a new set of shoes for their Mk7 R, I have a very near new set of 235/35r19 91y Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s I'm about to post in the classifieds. Direct replacement for the standard tyre. Got about 500km on them

Nice rubber, not to your liking?

Haven't even tried them. Got them for a good price through a dealership. I got them and was just going to hang on to them until I needed new tyres. But I can't see that happening for at least another 12 months or so.

And I've recently taken up scuba diving, which is an expensive hobby. So instead of the money sitting in tyres, I'll put it into scuba toys

I might have to show your post to my wife, my bday is coming up in a couple months haha. Stance looks spot on .
IMO lowering is a must if you are changing to aftermarket wheels. Ive also heard mixed reviews of the ride comfort after lowering which has me in two minds. Would appreciate more info.

I have the vmr lowered springs and yes the ride quality is not the same but the look and improved handling in my opinion out ways stiffer ride. I have set the individual acc setting to comfort for suspension and normal for every thing else which I use for normal driving and that certainly smooths out the ride for the daily commute
