Also the reason why no one has any hard answers on what triggers a TD1 is because its not suppose to be open. Its a tool for VW to use to detect aftermarket tunes. If the algorithms they used for detection are published then tuners can just get around it.

Sucks for tuners. But makes sense for them.

But, people who have had TD1 flags raised have been saying that it can be anything thats different from stock settings.

I.E someone used Vagcom and activated needlesweep on their Audi A3 in the UK (audi-sport forums) and they had a TD1 raised and checked against their "instrument cluster". Ridiculous sounding but apparantly it happened.

Thing about TD1 is its not just end-all of warranty, if a warranty issue arises its "supposed" to be investigated to see if whatever raised the flag is causal of the issue, and is judged case by case basis rather than. You have a TD1, peace out warranty replacement.

If the box connects to the cam sensor then I am guessing it does actually do change timing too?? pretty cool for a plug and play bit of kit! I guess to some its a risk worth taking due to the results you get!

Yep. Thats why i have less worries with it. This is the top of the range multichannel tuning box which costs about the same as a tune.

Tell me mate pricing wise, is it tune + dyno runs or are dyno runs included in the tune price you are paying?

Dyno time isn't included with tune but I am paying roughly 200$ for dyno time and 1450 for apr tune

Yep cool, still new to the world of modding VW/APR and know that in the past with other tunes like EcuTek they used to do a dyno afterwards not just a flash and forget. Again, that may not have been supposed to be done it may have been added service of the mechanic I used to go to previously.

Anyone have any good info on a parts catalog for the 7R? As far as I can tell this O2 sensor could be anywhere from $60-$200...

Nah apr products pricing you see on the net don't include dyno or install time for hardware, some places may dyno for free

Is it not under warranty as the apr dealer sent you away without the sow pipe tune?

    Warranty with who? VW?

I don't think they would touch anything that touches a modified downpipe...

Yep understand where you are coming from and already had that thought but I guess what is to say if it was going to die it wouldn't of happened post tune?

More heartache than its worth, it's with Mike Weber Prestige & Performance and whilst as inconvenient as it is they have done a good job so far.
