Picked up the car on Saturday morning and made the long trek back from Brisbane to townsville and I would have to say, even though the weather was atrocious, the car still went incredibly, did not notice the rain slightly and as I got further north and the roads got more questionable it still performed up to the hype, best car I have ever owned or driven, extremely happy

On the note of running in, is there a run-in that needs to be done in the R? Or foot to the floor from dealer delivery?
Uhm owner manual says for the first 1500km, don't rev within 2/3rd of redline in each gear and don't sit on constant speed....
I was told by the service team at the dealership that it has a "running in" oil from new in the engine and this will be changed at the first service to a "bedding in" oil, he said once 1500km has been done the engine is fine to drive however you like due to the fact that the rev limiter is extremely low for how good the engine is.
Am calling up vwa today to see when and if I can get the turbo recalled and will update results on that today.

Hainsy, follow the manual and you can't go wrong. I would add wait until motor oil is up to temp (95-105) before giving it the beans Avoid cruise control over long distances during the run in period.
Hey Mikey, when is your manual R due? (Might well be on my boat due in to Melb late Sept?)
