There's an Auto mode isn't there? Steve Pizzati told me the car computers read and adjust at so many times per second it's best to just leave things in that mode, even when on the race track.

I don't know!

I am torn between getting something that is R-related and something that is just generic.

All of the cheap ($445) plates are mostly taken in this day and age;

Perhaps the Euro or Q series? They're only ~$650 and the Euro sized plates look a lot better on the Golf 7.

I've now had my R for 6 weeks and totally love it! Had annoying rattle in door which was fixed under warranty (prob from window tinting) and someone has decided to open car door into mine and leave dent and not leave their details, annoying! Getting pointless dent repair next week.
Had to learn the car and now don't notice any lack in low end power as it revs so fast. Quite happy with under 10l 100km fuel so far too which is impressive for performance car.
Next on list is APR tune once released and then just enjoy my beast! Hope everyone else loving theirs as much!
