One correction, no park assist with the R (not sure why, maybe because all R drivers are awesome

Thanks and that's interesting about the R and Park Assist. VW of A are so funny with their speccing of the cars. In Europe and the UK all these systems can be had separately as well when ordering...as so many more things....sigh

Must send a very big thanks out to @alanzidane for his help on my R today.
Have been doing some fine tuning, and managed to get the following done to the car.

Coming Home / Leaving lights enabled
Brake lights adjusted to be full with when pushing the pedal
Traffic enabled
Changed all globes in the car to LED. Glovebox, boot, two vanity lights for front.

Very quick, very helpful, and just gives the car that little more special feeling about it.
Now to convince myself I don't need the "R" logo projected from the door lights, that might be hard.

Might be seeing you soon alazidane.

Now just waiting to get my new front plates from Lakin.

Have also been pestering my dealership about getting voice enabled.
Got a mysterious call from their service department today that may have the issue getting resolved once and for all.

Will let you all know what I manage to get done.

I am struggling to understand why you bought this car and, more particularly, why you ordered the Driver Assist Package when you don't know what it does. Can you enlighten me please?

I totally agree. The Golf R is a driving enthusiast's car, but with a bit of spruiking by a good salesman, before you know it, they've signed up an unsuspecting customer with all options ticked. Job well done!

There was no Park Assist on the Mk6 R either, and no Park Assist on Mk7 R in South Africa and UK - all right hand drive markets. However, Park Assist is available on Audi S3 as standard equipment, so clearly Audi Australia thought it was a useful feature that it wanted all its S3 customers to have. IIRC, lawsy2 was seriously looking at the S3 before deciding the R was better value or more affordable for him.

Ummmmmm, no. thats an alanzidane question. Can find out for you though.

"R" logo projected from the bottom of the door so when you open the door, it projects a 20x20cm image onto the ground. Only seen a photo at this stage and don't have one myself, photo that is. But very tempted.

Didn't change the static cornering lights. Didn't know that was possible. Is it a self service job and how much? link maybe?

Will keep the whole forum posted on the voice thing. If all goes according to planed I will have the answer on how to get it done. Then again, it could all go to **** and I will be back to square one

Mate, what is the coming home/leaving lights enabled do? I have no idea about any of this stuff on my car

I had no choice as all cars available had this option. If I didn't want it, I had to wait 5-6 months

Coming home/leaving convenience lighting is configurable through the car infotainment system. You can even increase the number of seconds they stay on. C'mon guys this feature was even available on the mk5 GTI

when you jump out of the car, close and lock the door, all exterior lights (headlights, tail lights) all stay on for a selectable time.
Have mine set to 30 seconds (I think that could be the max) so that there is light around the car as I am getting my stuff from the day out of it.

Thanks for the advice mate! Yeah so many buttons and options, I have no idea what I'm doing haha. I wish the dealer knew what she was doing grrrrrrrrrr
