For those who may be thinking about getting a spare set or upgrading their wheels to something else, but still keeping the same 8J x 19 inch size, you all know that most of the big name tyre brands charge a fortune for 235/35 R19 91Y tyres, typically in the $400 - $450 price range, or even more in the case of the Michelin Super Sports, which will be closer to $600. However, I have obtained a price from Donnellans The Tyremen for the Continental ContiSportContact 5P. As they have preferred dealer status from Continental Australia, they can offer these for just $320, which I think is a great price for a premium product.

Worth noting there is also a decent price being offered on the Goodyear F1-A2s in 235/35/19 as well at $270/corner: Good price on Goodyear Tyres

Although if you R guys are already burning through a set then you're doing it wrong..

(or right!)

If I was tracking I'd be going to 18s as a second set however.

Nice number and letter combination. I see from your signature that you had a struggle in deciding which plate style and number/letter combination to run with. I have a bit of a number plate fetish myself.

Ha yeah, very hard choosing a combo and kept changing my mind. Very happy with the plate now though!

From Street FX Motorsport & Graphics Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/streetfx, user comments suggest the failure was so extreme, it must have resulted from a violent impact with something, such as a large rock. There are some interesting comments about the differences between cast wheels and forged wheels, where cast wheels shatter and forged wheels just bend. Also, Volkswagen Australia are supposedly well aware of the incident and taking it very seriously.
