Thanks. Interesting that it has a significantly different turbo designation to all mk7 variants.

Answers a few questions perhaps right there

Looking for ECU tune options on the 7.5 R.

Have heard the Burger JB1/4 works fine, however prefer a tune over a bolt on for max power.

They pretty much nuke your warranty, don't they?

Toggle, I believe APR have tuned out for the 7.5R.

If you're in Melbourne I'd probably recommend underground performance. Great rep, price and custom tune.

I'd probably go stage 1 tune with panel filter and inlet. That's best bang for buck.

It will void your warranty though.

I'd suggest getting at least say 5k km into car to make sure no obvious issues. I'd wait as long as possible before tuning how long you can wait depends on you.

I only waited 6 months and got the APR stage 1 first week it was released back in dec 2014.

I'm now stage 2 with DSG tune etc, every bolt on with stock IC. I've had 3.5yrs and 40k km no issues at all. But I've never used LC, never tracked car, drive fairly sedately most of time (traffic!)
Always have stop start off and warm up car well before hard driving. I also get serviced every 10k km. All pretty basic common sense with tuned turbo car.

After 6 months waiting have finally taken delivery of my 7.5R. What an astonishing car, can't believe the game has moved on this much since my MK5 GTI!

    Few questions:
    - Noticed the sat nav center screen identifies speed limit of road (great feature). Seems to change immediately upon passing a road speed sign. Is this info coming from the onboard maps or a front facing camera/traffic sign recognition (I don't have safety pack optioned on car)? Unsure if this had anything to do with having turned on traffic/TMC (vcds)?
    - Regarding enabled traffic information, how accurate/timely is this information (congestion, traffic events) for Perth metro (how is this data captured, in real time?).
    - If parking on a slope, do you need to switch on the electronic hand brake or putting transmission in park automatically switch it on? Any difference if auto hold enabled?

I’m fairly sure the cars now read the road signs as you deducted. Haven’t used it on my Wolf yet - haven’t even seen it to be honest - but we had it on a rental Touareg when we were in Ireland over the winter and it was brilliant for driving in unfamiliar areas. Just one more thing that you don’t need to worry about and can concentrate more on actually driving safely instead of what fecking speed you shouldn’t be doing. It’s up there with radar cruise in my book. On the Touareg it displayed easily on the dash regardless of using sat nav. I’ll have to see if it’s as easy to do in the Golf.

    Don’t know about traffic.

Switching off the engine activates the park brake. Auto hold keeps you stationary until then. Only need to turn off auto hold if doing delicate manouvering such as nudging up close to a garage wall or the like. Autohold makes it a bit tricky as you tend to shoot forward instead of slowly edging as you release the brake.
    Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
Current:- Amarok V6 Sportline; Mazda CX-9 Azami AWD
Previous - Mk 6 R manual; Mk 7 R manual; Passat 130 TDi Wagon. Mk 7.5 Wolfsburg Wagon.

I notice you don't have the camera based safety options.
AFAIK, the speed limit data in the navigation screen comes from the map data stored on the SD card in the glove compartment.
It seems fairly accurate, and changes quickly using GPS. BUT it doesn't know about temporary speed restrictions, roadworks, school zones, etc.
The live traffic data comes via radio. In my area, it seems to cover only the major roads. Not sure how accurate. Further testing needed.

IMHO the gold standard for live traffic is Google Maps displayed using Android Auto. It updates in real time, using crowd sourced data.
All the usual features, including suggestive re-routing to avoid congestion.
Only downside of Google Maps is the vast quantity or 3G/4G data it consumes when used continuously for a few hours.

How does one get the speed limit data on the dash sat nav screen, can only see it on main screen?

Doesn't the Audi VC use Google maps?
Basically if they can get that wirelessly working with my phone, that'd be great.
