    Congrats!

    How much, any options?

Post pics one you have it!

Also, re the tyre noise, pretty much like my GTI them so should be fine.
Never driven on Contis, how are they. My current tyres are Goodyear asymmetric 2s. Pretty good tyres I reckon.

I understand the R can't take a tow bar which is a deal breaker.
I briefly looked into this. There is an option of putting a toe bar to the R but it's bolted to the back.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the GTI would be a lot harder due to the exhaust tips being in the middle?

I'm not sure that's correct. I looked into this when I bought my R 18 months ago. I couldn't find a bar to fit because of the placement of the rear diff. This is also evidenced by the fact that the boot is shallower than a GTIs boot by a reasonable margin.

This is why my R has roof racks!

My bad, that link would be referring to the regular Mk7 Golfs.

It doesn't bolt underneath but the rear bumper is taken off and then attached on the frame. So I guess it could be done but I'm not 100% confident about the towing capability.

Towing wasn't on check list when buying the R. Roof racks are great for some application but having the ability to tow somethings is a bonus.

    Ah! Nice.

Yeah, I only wanted the tow bar to fit my bike carrier, hence roof racks solved my transport issue easily! Mk7 Golf R Discussion Thread

Just took the R for a spin, yes this car does have Soo much more power than the GTI and just sticks to the road! I was annoyed they didn't let let my drive it for long but at least I have a feel for it now.
Didn't really notice much tyre noise, def is quieter than my GTI. Also didn't feel as stuff as some reviews make it out to be.

    Can't wait to get it!

You don't get frustrated and swap lanes just feet off and steer let the car do the work
When stopped it goes inactive after a short while but just hit resume and your off again
Don't forget to stop at red lights if no one stopping in front of you i was that relaxed one day nearly forgot to brake almost sailed into oncoming traffic /doh
Interestingly I was reading through the Alltrack manual this morning (crazy for a gut I know) and was personalising my settings and found I do have Adaptive Lane Guidance under the driver assistance menu but it was unchecked. Checked the box and will test it out later.

It works above 60km a hr reads the line markings and will stop you wandering into another lane
You can overcome this with the steering wheel you will feel a faint tug on the wheel as it starts to pull you back but then responds to the fact your steering (and haven't gone to sleep)
    Then it cancels
Also does not activate if you use your turn signal
Not a bad feature will definitely save lives

    Ooooo that's good to know
I bet if it isn't/wasn't activated then it should be a coding activation. All the hardware already in I believe.
