The GTI competes with the A250, and the R competes with the A45.
Accordingly a Super Golf R would need to be priced even higher or on par with the A45 at 75k minimum.

But it doesn't matter as it won't get built or released here anyway.

But the VW interior will keep the price down compared to the A45 AMG so I would expect it to be the same if not cheaper

    Yes, that is my point.
Current R competes against the A45 so if we have a Super R it will be more expensive again.

Current R competes with the sti, evo's ect
The 135i (not so much) and a45 amg are in another league at the moment until the mk7 R is released but even then the amg is still by itself IMO

You would think the new Golf mk7 R will be equivalent to the current Audi S3, so 221kw in Europe, and detained to 206kw in hot climate countries like Australia.

So yes, it won't be on an equal playing field against a MB A45 AMG.

As others have stated the R isn't in the same class as the A45. That's why it's cheaper.

Which should put the Super R ard A45 pricing but considering the marques' market positioning suggests it should still be lower in price.

What's more likely is a mid cycle refresh of the R with the new engine rather than a new Super R model.

Not sure if this has been posted before..

You can now configure the R in the UK website.

Odd that you need the telephony integration option to get the fancy windscreen option (that cuts out heat/cold).

I also couldn't find a Dynaudio option in the R. I recall it was in the GTI 7.

Yeap GTI has the Dynaudio pack.

R has some new Nappa leather options in 2-tone that's about a grand more (GBP) than the Vienna leather.

Has anyone spoken to AU dealers about first delivery dates for the new R?
