Current R competes with the sti, evo's ect
The 135i (not so much) and a45 amg are in another league at the moment until the mk7 R is released but even then the amg is still by itself IMO

As others have stated the R isn't in the same class as the A45. That's why it's cheaper.
Which should put the Super R ard A45 pricing but considering the marques' market positioning suggests it should still be lower in price.
What's more likely is a mid cycle refresh of the R with the new engine rather than a new Super R model.

You can now configure the R in the UK website.
Odd that you need the telephony integration option to get the fancy windscreen option (that cuts out heat/cold).
I also couldn't find a Dynaudio option in the R. I recall it was in the GTI 7.

Yeap GTI has the Dynaudio pack.
R has some new Nappa leather options in 2-tone that's about a grand more (GBP) than the Vienna leather.
Has anyone spoken to AU dealers about first delivery dates for the new R?
