I vistied Dean at Fast Stuff today and swapped my stage 2 APR across to new OEM+ tune. I wasn't expecting much difference as I know both basically been done by same people. I had really one wish and that was no more turbo flutter/surge sound and happy to say it's gone. Car power deleivery is as smooth as ever and I'd say top end pull slightly better.

I'm more than happy and no doubt many of you that are customers of Dean, Guy etc will be swapping across.

Saw this on Facebook. Two door version. Matte wrap. If you zoom in onto the hood you will see a R logo stencil which appears to be slightly raised. Also I like the look of the car without the big VW badge in the middle.

G.T, they will have a stage 1 for sure I'm not sure on exact numbers, like the stage 2 it will be very similar to APR. Was always going to be as Guy Harding had lots to do with both tunes. I was happy with APR tunes and only swapped as wanted to stick with Dean and Guy and have locally designed tune with local support. I have noticed that as well as no flutter sound, my oil temps slightly lower and defintitely pulls harder to red line.

Fast stuff contact 95803278 or Dean's mobile 0418 347 387. Give him a call and ask about it, he is awesome to deal with and will answer any questions you have and more. Other than that can always call Guy Harding at Harding performace and ask him too. More than happy to answer questions and give advice. I've had all my mods installed by him, servicing. I doubt you would find anyone that doesn't have good reviews of him. He just loves VAG cars and european, has them himself and runs products he supports.

Looks really good. I like the front bumper, so clean.

Car also looks good without the DAP sensor stuck in the middle of it.

flash tunes can be done poorly too dont forget & if/when I get another Juicebox I might put the car on a dyno to check AFR's and plug it into a knockbox. Like I said, I ran my 335i on a JB & had nothing but a great experience - Its fine by me if you wouldnt touch one.
My turbo is also the latest revision (that I'm aware of). I too did my homework before buying. (Incidentally, failures have been reported on every revision of the turbo, including the latest one, although the rate of failures has dropped right off, thankfully.)

Regardless of one's opinions and anecdotal experiences of tuning boxes, the simple fact is that they have less control over engine tuning parameters (and often less sensor data to work with) than a tune might. This doesn't inherently make them less effective or worse for your engine, but then driving without wearing a seatbelt won't necessarily kill you either - it all comes down to circumstances. Myself, I like seatbelts.

There have been 4-or-so revisions of the turbo IIRC. The last revision that I know of started being fitted to cars built around the beginning of MY15 production, in early-mid 2014.

lol, very simplistic analogy there adamD have you found forum 7R owners that have failures that could be atrributable to the Jb1?please let me know if you like as I havent found 1 yet - but I mostly read VWROC & I did a heap of reasearch before I put a JB4 on my 335i

Proud to be a Mk7 Golf Owner

I live in an apartment complex close to the city with over 150 apartments. The most popular car in the complex is a Mk7 Golf, with Range Rover Evoques and Mini's not too far behind. We have an Audi R8, many S Audi's, and other premium cars. There are M3's, M4's, 63 Merc's and of course many SUVs. There's also a lot of older cars including a 1960's Merc, Ford F100 with a big block conversion and a restored MG B.

I have talked to most of the owners of cars here, sharing my love and passion for cars. I have drooled at some cars, had people drool at mine, but my best conversation was with the owner of a Grey Mk7 Golf R in the complex after I followed him into the garage and noticed just how much lower/harder/louder this car was than my stockie.

He told me all about his R. He had spent over $30k(!) on mods - wheels, brakes, coil overs, stiffening chassis, full exhaust, air intake, tune, carbon everything and massive Ross Tech mods with different settings. I love what he had done to his car. Yet he had only done 10,000km in two years and was driving in city traffic day to day to work and back!

It also made me very happy about my R, as I would never want the suspension any harder than 'comfort' mode...although now I am counting down the days (487) until my warranty is done so I can tune my classic Lapiz Blue Q Car...

How do you feel about your Golf Mk7?
