Just putting together a shopping list...

Any opinions on whether replacing the stock rotors is desirable? If so, are the DBA 42808S rotors worth the extra $88 over the DBA 2808S?

hey guys, quick question, looking to put the golf r on the dyno tomorrow at a car meet. just interested in seeing what it is getting ATW.

i have heard murmurs about some companies only dynoing them with the front wheels only, as there is apparently a way to ensure the rear diff does not engage, and as there will only be a rwd/fwd dyno at the event tomorrow could someone give me pointers on to how to go about this?

    cheers.

From memory you remove the fuse for ABS and it also affects the haldex so it won't operate = FWD only.
Might be a good idea to do some google searches though as that was the setup for the Mk6 R.

Yeah mate thought just as much and already googled it but will try again or just go for a drive with the fuse out, chuck the hand brake on and try and drive through it with the front wheels only and just enough to see if the car "squats" In the rear..... But not enough to blow it up hahah

With the 6r did a light come up and then go out when fuse was put back in or?

Other option is to get underneath and pull the plug on the Haldex controller. This will cause the car to default to FWD. Either way you'll still be running the tail shaft as this is connected mechanically.

You'll have a fault light on the dash and when you reconnect/reinstall fuse you'll have a fault logged which can be cleared with VCDS.

I have done a search and found some other people posting the same experience I am having with their automatic start-stop but just wanting to post it in here to see if any R owners are having the same issue.

During our first 1000kms the first thing we would do is switch the automatic start-stop off when starting the car, now going over the 1400kms mark we have decided that its probably time to take advantage of the possible fuel savings. Problem is now, no matter what the start-stop is constantly saying "Power consumption is high" and does not stop the automatically stop the car.

Anyone else had this happen? Not sure whether to be happy about it or if there is an actual fault it regarding the start-stop system.

The car will not turn off if you have too many things using power and it cannot turn the car off, run these items and then have enough current draw in the battery to start again.

You will notice this when sitting at lights with aircon, sometimes it will cut out because the inside air temp is matched to what you have requested on the aircon setting, when the inside temp raises the car will turn back on and start cooking again
