The S1 engine is a variation of the GTIs engine, whereas the R/S3 is running a larger turbo.Quote:

I think it allows you to turn off the interior sensors when you are in the car so you don't set off the alarm when the doors are locked
Yes, it disables the alarm (i.e. for if you ever need a tow). The manual lists other use cases
toggles the passenger seat ejector on and off
The S3 also misses out on a rear arm-rest and pass through hatch, rear cupholders (arm rest+holders a $400 option), sunglass storage and the storage bin under the headlight switch.......Quote:
