Nope, I've been searching for a metal replacement/extension for mine. No luck yet.

A lot of this development/demand seems to come from america and the Golf 7 won't be available there until July 2014! Hopefully mods and whatnot pick up after that.

Just be careful not to get something too shiny - don't want the sun being reflected into your eyes

Hi Koe, the static cornering lamp should be a H7 halogen globe, which can be replaced with a blue tinted globe, such as a Philips BlueVision ultra bulb - refer Philips BlueVision ultra 12972BVUSM - car headlight bulb. Alternatively, the following WhiteVision bulb might be better: Philips WhiteVision 12972WHVS2 - Headlights

Test Driving the Mk7 R, ....almost.

A few months ago I bought an MK7 GTI. Two weeks ago I got a call from the same Dealer telling me they were calling previous buyers of “performance VW vehicles” and would I like to make an appointment to test drive the new MK7 R. I arranged for Sunday, arrived on time and by chance was met by the salesperson who had accepted the appointment. I introduced myself by name. First words after greeting me were, oh and you’re here to see the new GTI.

Wrong. I explained that I had come to see the MK7 R.

I looked, sat in and generally poked around the vehicle for about 5 minutes. At that time I suggested we take the car for a test drive. The salesperson disappeared for a few minutes and came back and directed me into the office. Then began the “blurb” and questions about how I would like to conduct the sale, trade in etc. (what sale ???)

I was then told the demonstrator vehicle that I was looking at had been sold yesterday and the purchaser had given permission for the Dealership to use the vehicle for test drives. The only way they could allow anybody to drive the vehicle was if they put a deposit on the purchase of a new MK7 R, then and there. I couldn’t be bothered even questioning the ridiculous scenario they'd invented. I politely said goodbye to the salesperson and left.

Incidentally, at the same time I was looking through the R, another person walked in, straight-off-the-street and was talking to another of their sales people. I overheard everything that was being said. This guy had never seen an R before. While I was sitting in the office, listening to this garbage, who drove off in the R,…..the other guy!

Well done McGrath Liverpool, you will not be getting my business in the future.

Doesn't the R have xenon's that move horizontally? I have xenons on my mk6 GTI, and they point into corners.

Yes it does move horizontally, but in addition to that, the bixenon system have a light that turns on while turning.

Ahhh OK, I thought it was one or the other. That is, if you had xenons, you had dynamic cornering lights (which I might add are really good on high beam on country roads). If you had halogens, you got the static cornering lights.

I drove an R yesterday and all i can say is that if i wanted a car that sounded like a WRX with an aftermarket exhaust i would but a WRX with an aftermarket exhaust......
    appreciate others thoughts on this.
We have turned the sound actuator down to 0% on our demo. Its can be done in less than 5 minutes if your dealer knows what they are doing. In can be adjusted in increments of 10% from 0-100. Makes a huge difference.
    Hope that helps
