Sigh, I really wish we will be at least able to order the 3 Door GTI here, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

Don't see much point in getting a 5 Door GTI over a Octavia RS tbh.

Thats an almost 6 year old design, based on the MK5 Golf and the Golf GTI is a stretch budget wise as it is. I'd lean more towards the facelift Polo if there's no 3 Door Golf.

Also I should really buy a car I can physically sit in the back of...

No red stripe through the headlights is massive bummer. That was one of the most striking features of the new look imho.

Except one's a VW with good resale value that looks modern, has great street cred and has that German heritage. The other is a Skoda that has crap resale value, awkward dull looks and far from premium market place cred. It's VAG's "cheap" brand.

No, that's a real positive. If there is one thing about the front design of the mk7 that is a massive turn-off compared with the mk6 it is the headlight design of the bixenons with that ridiculous red stripe. I hope VW in Australia follow the NZ spec of standard halogen lights.

What did you expect, people are pushing for a cheaper GTI so when they offer it with less options as standard you get people who complain.

Its almost like VW are trying to make money out of these

There's not offering it standard (xenon) and then theres not offering it at all (3 door, performance pack).

The Rocco only has XDS, which is lesser than the Mk7's XDS+ let alone Performance Pack.
