Change in circumstances, certainly nothing wrong with the ride.
As others have now said, only available via the luxury pack or on the PP.
If you do country night driving they'd be worth the investment, otherwise up to you whether you get any value from them. And your personal preference on that erm red line.

Bizarre. Given there is a clear demand by a significant number of consumers for red lines their approach once again is out of whack with the market.
I guess you'll need to hunt a low mileage second hander, wait until VWA pull their finger out, or fork out for a PP and a new set of wheels.

VW are obviously a bit slow on the website then. They still advertise the wonders of Bi-xenons on the regular GTI. If it hasn't been available since MY14 that's a pretty long time to be misrepresenting!
Highlights < Golf < Models < Volkswagen Australia
I don't understand why you can now spec a lesser golf with better features than the GTI. The same pack was supposed to be available across the range??
2018 Golf GTI, Manual - gone.
2017 Golf 110tsi Trendline, manual (gone - gladly)
2007 Golf GTI, Manual, (gone - sadly)
1978 Golf GLS; 1972 Superbug, (memories)
I don't think it was ever announced that it would be, only that the pack existed on other models - although it seems odd as Jimi said that it wouldn't eventually cross over. I've been suggesting a GTI Highline for a long time, although it would price up in the $51-52k range in manual and that just seems way too much to spend on a GTI.
I appreciate $6k is still a lot of cash for most people, and you would forgo leather/sunroof but you'd be gaining the R which just seems a lot more logical buying. Especially if xenons hold value to you cause then you'd be getting the 'real deal double U'.
(I'm obviously only talking Tassie rrps here as well)
