    Hi,

Still waiting for a header tank to turn up for the coolant issue then they will replace the lower control arm at the same time.

    Good luck with yours.

Get yourself and nine mates to all do it and the law of averages says you will be the one pulled up on it.

SA says: "Number plates must be visible from the front and rear of a motor vehicle and must not be obscured by a tow ball, load, plastic cover, dirt build-up or any part of the vehicle's bodywork." The plate cover I had previously in SA from Lakin had a letter advising it met state requirements and was ok to be fitted; I wonder if the sticker was attached to the cover rather than directly on the plate whether they'd consider that obscuring the plate?

Pretty sure the High Court could spend a week on that topic alone.. it's the vibe of the thing.

Dropped it off this morning, driving around in a Jetta for the day, fingers crossed they fix it this time.
    I'll let you know.

VW Service still has the GTI, kept it overnight to do further testing today to make sure it's fixed. Didn't quiet catch everything they've replaced on the phone, so I'll make sure I get a list when it's ready.

So got the GTI back after being in for 2 days, the service center have now changed both top mount barrings and all bolts as well. First impressions is the noise is reduced considerably the knocking noise seems to have gone, but their is still a hollow movement at the top of the strut's travel. So I'm going to monitor this over the Christmas break and we go from there in the new year. I'm waiting for the full service invoice to be emailed to me listing all the parts changed.
The service center has said that the service managers car is also making the same noise, so will keep in touch with them in case they come up with another fix.
