I'm wondering if VW are likely to make Xenons an option on the base GTI? I'd buy a PP with them standard, but that is DSG only. I want a manual only - will not consider a DSG (no offence to DSG owners).

Has anyone heard any news on changes to options?

That will almost certainly not happen. You could spec bi xenons with manual GTI on a MY14 order (that's what I have) and they then removed the option for MY15. It'd be odd if they then turned around and offered it again after removing it

They were an option on MY14 GTIs and Highlines, VW removed the choice for MY15 so I doubt it'll be coming back any time soon. The only way to get them is if they're standard fit.

Collected my car about 1hour ago after having APR stage 1 tune put on it ..............can't wipe the smile off my face

Out of curiosity, how much is the stage 1 tune? Tried to find some info online and couldn't see it anywhere.

Does it affect the warranty at all?

Re warranty the tune would be detected by VW and with drivetrain/engine components you'd have an issue if something major failed during the warranty period i.e if your prepared to play (tune) be prepared to pay. However, the GTI/R 6 spd DSG (and manual box) and motor are well sorted so you'd be unlucky if anything major failed.
