Yeah, maybe it was a single person or perhaps the tinters that damaged it and decided to cover it up. Who knows. I just know I'm paying for somebody's incompetence, I'll let karma do the rest.
I'm looking at selling it after 2 years (decided to relocate, I'm not from around here, definitely gonna miss Australia) so yeah standard package would definitely make it easier to sell in the future.
I drove my sister's Mk 7 GTI back where I'm from, but that was a while ago so I can't really compare the drive. But it's definitely bumpier with the 19" wheels even with ACC set on "Comfort". Haven't pushed it to it's limits so not sure when or if the LSD has ever kicked in, would definitely like to track it at least once. Love the LED tail lights as well, looks aesthetically pleasing (although it would not have bothered me if they were the standard tail lights on the regular GTI). She had leather as standard on her car but I'm not too keen on leather especially when it gets hot and just the feel of it. And I wouldn't pay 3k for it too. Tartan/Alacantra feels/looks good! She has keyless and a MDI port and Discover Pro on hers so I kinda miss the big screen and the convenience of not taking my key out. The Australian version also lacks motorised folding mirrors. The Santiago rims are starting to grow on me although diamond cut lacquered wheels will be a pain to repair if you ever get them scratched.
I think the whole package is let down by a poor infotainment system that doesn't work that well (voice control doesn't work, when I press 'Media' with my iPhone connected it starts playing music straight away, if I mute the radio when entering a carpark and I decide to turn off/start my car again it doesn't stay muted and I hear static, can't browse playlists via bluetooth etc).
But otherwise I'm loving my car, great look + got a few head turns from fellow GTI/Golf drivers.![]()
