When I was ordering my GTI the dealer said there had been a $500 price rise on 1 March, although I don't think I've seen this reflected anywhere so unsure what the go was.

Thinking that the price increase is to cover all the LED number plate lights they've had to "give" away.

RRP of a base GTI with DSG is $43,990, the PP RRP is $47,990, so a $4k difference. $49k drive away isn't terrible!

Or do you mean $5k above the base manual?

I got mine for $45,990 drive away brand new but I got a bit of a discount because I know someone who works in logistics for AHG

It's 5k on top of whatever they charge you for the GTI, so in essence PP costs $5k. Mine was totally stock. I think I'm a bit embarrassed by the price I would rather not say lol. I'm not the best when it comes to bargaining. :\

So if you put it that way, mine cost 55k but fully optioned and i understand you cannot get sunroof on the PP, not sure if you can get leather or not. So if you put 5k on top, it is 60k, minus sunroof would be around $57500.

So if it is costing around that much, i cannot see a fully optioned Golf R costing no less than 61k

Is the boot open in that picture, if not, the light fitment is terrible.

You're not wrong, big gap above the main light, not fully lined with the boot section light.

Yeah BrendanA said it was due to the light housing on the previous page but it looks out of place to me and a lot of people were annoyed at the missaligned panel gaps on the mk6.

Which is give or take 10k cheaper than the S3

I paid $52 with driver Assist in Sydney. The stock there selling now I've been told has been in the country for a wile waiting for the launch of the PP. Mine is week 10 build arrive late May.
last week my dealer rang and offered the same car but with leather for $55 on road. Pick in 2 weeks.

Sounds about right! The fully optioned PP GTI they had on the floor with leather and Driver Assist was $58-59 driveaway (but without the sunroof cause you can't get that on the PP).
