That's good to hear. So are you getting what you originally wanted?

This probably sounds like a strange question, but does anyone feel that their GTI's drivers seat doesn't go forward far enough?

I'm 184cm tall and my wife is 174, and we've got the seat in the furthest forward position it goes. If we "pump up" the seat its fine, but if i lower it to the bottom setting, its too far from the pedals. I've had 2 golf 6's and a golf 5 and the drivers seat goes MUCH further forward.

Is there something wrong with my drivers seat or has anyone else noticed the same. If i have to, i can pop down to a dealer on the weekend just to sit in a car to see if its any different to mine, but the nearest dealer is a bit of a trek away so i'd like to avoid it if possible

    Cheers

I'm 174 cm tall, and test drove a GTI just before Christmas, and I was able to set the seat that was comfortable for me, ie if I place my arms out straight, wrist would be over the steering wheel.

Wouldn't it have been obvious during the test drive?

Not sure if this will apply to you but it feels much better hitting the pedals with the seat back more upright. Doesn't feel like as much of a reach.

Only one worth its salt is the VW/Allianz one. Be aware that Golf's have gone up a category in the last 6-12 months or so and thus it will probably be dearer than it has been in the past.

IMO worry about it closer to when your warranty is coming up. I see people buy extended warranties all the time and sell the car prior to the factory one expiring.

Ignore any extended warranty that dictates where you get your car serviced. Also ignore ones with coupon books for servicing etc.. The only conditions should be that you abide by the factory service requirements.
