Well at least that isn't as bad as the VW NZ website, which has a flash ad featuring the 3 Door GTI with a small note "3 Door not available in NZ"
Golf GTI > Golf > Models > Volkswagen New Zealand
The picture they've posted has the car in a lovely Oryx white, which we won't get haha
I'm hanging out for the dealers to get their training in the first week of Oct, hopefully we can find out a bit more about when the various options will appear (in particular the performance pack and Nav pro, which is particularly confusing as it is in NZ now)
I am another who has an order for one of the first batch but because i specified the PP I have a free option to let it pass (which I probably will and then reassess)

But neither of those vehicles is comparable to the others as far as price and performance go
Hot Hatch Level 1: Golf GTI, Focus ST, etc
Hot Hatch Level 2: Golf R, Audi S3, M35i, etc
Super Hatch Level 3: A45 AMG, Audi RS3, etc
Got a email from a dealer to invite me to the GTI launch event .... They will have cars Oct the 3rd
Yes good point: But is the price premium justified relative to the performance on offer? Are the premium hatches more fun to drive. Latest edition of EVO Magazine rated the Golf 7 GTI ahead of the new Audi S3 for overall driver appeal - surprisingly given that the Audi S3 is only 45kgs heavier than a PP Golf 7 GTI. It also highlights that tuning a hot-hatch for more performance, does not necessary mean more fun on a public roadway at relative speed. EVO and Car Magazine (UK) both rated the Golf 7 GTI PP ahead of the Audi S3 Sportback for overall driver appeal. Autocar's Steve Sutcliff rated the GTI PP ahead of the BWW M135i. So why pay more for less?

Where is it being held? Is it a dealership based event or VWA? I wonder if others are happening outside of Vic...
