The VWA spec on page 44 would disagree with this.

The information I have received is the initial cars will either be standard or come with leather and roof. Happy to say I have a Carbon Steel secured and contract signed.

If you don't mind me asking, what happens then with price? Given there seems to be about a $5k range in speculated prices, do you have options to reconsider when it is confirmed?

Cool. Is there a link to that document? I've only seen the one with the currently available models listed (TSI, TDI).

The contract has been drawn up using current GTI pricing with a subject to change clause. The dealer believes the realistic price change will be $1500 and nothing like the higher prices some others have mentioned. The wording lets me not proceed if the price rise isn't acceptable. That said I have dealt with this dealer many times and I have 110% confidence in the outcome.

I don't know what to do now. Any ideas when in 2014 the performance pack will show up?

No-one yet has any information on that. The pack hasn't even been confirmed for Australia, so worst-case it could be never (especially if it's deemed too close to the R to be offered in our small market).
