^^ Surely would be higher than that? That's 110 Highline pricing
I think $35,990 is more likely

I'm guessing if there is a "cheap" GTI it won't have all the comforts of the Highline, but a 5 door DSG GTI at around 38k would still be a decent saving compared to the Mk6. Then there's also the fact I know someone who bargained the price of a 103TSI down to 30k drive away at the end of June, so there must be room to move if that's what they want to do.
Price of the highline is $34,490... A little room ...
There's no way the manual 3 dr will be any less than $39k. It's better equipped than the mk6. They wouldn't want to destroy the value of 2nd hand cars either
Just a shame they're marketing an inferior product without the PP

Can anyone confirm if the performance pack(PP) will be offered in Aus. I will be after a 5dr manual and would hate to miss out on the PP.
Someone said they were worried about the ~60 Mk6 GTI's sitting at dealerships, which might correlate. There's no reason for them to care about the value of our cars though (unless it kills brand loyalty in some customers). I just hope the car isn't engineered cheaply and we have another round of failures and recalls, etc.
As long as my car continues to work I'm happy to wait for either the GTI PP or the R to arrive, pending pricing info, etc.
