Will be selling my GTi as am returning to New Zealand to live and work but timeline unknown (ie. got to get a job first)
My questions is, to achieve the best price (as I have finance to pay out) would you sell your car now or wait - could be January or could be 3-6 months or more, who knows.
The car is fully financed but I can pay the shortfall out no problem.
I was told it was built Apr 2015, Delivered mid June 2015 so MY15 model, manual, white, no extras - only done 4500 km.
I guess my question relates to depreciation as that is the factor most likely to affect value- and of course demand.
Be interested in others opinions - or if you have been through the same scenario with a previous car.
    Cheers, John

Sooner you sell it the better the price you will get, longer you wait more come up for sale, only downside is it's not the new my16 model & with my15 "auto" going brand new from $38990 to $40k expect to take a hit on yours, start mid $30s but be realistic you will get low $30s

    Good luck

you pumping it low ball because you want to buy it?
Might consider taking it with me if I am going to drop $10K in 6 months - and enjoy the Promotech power module I have just installed.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Lol, nah just being realistic, if you can buy a brand new auto the road for $39k, that prices a manual brand new at $37k brand new, so makes sense a used model is low 30s as the buyer has to add on roads & loss of almost 1 year warranty, all about market timing what's around when you put it up, may get mid 30s at best

Take it with you I say 👍

I've been stuck at home a few days so I took the opportunity (yeah, I was bored) to remove, smooth, and paint my rear valance:

Results are OK. Would definitely look nicer if it was properly smoothed and epoxy coated (or something thicker than several cans of gloss black spray and clear coat). I still think it looks better than the rough and dark grey plastic that was there before. Only problem now is that I want to do the side skirts and all the black trim on the front as well. I might take them all off in one hit and get them professionally coated.

    One day.

Signed the line for an MY16GTI manual on Saturday - starting the longest 2 week wait of my life!

Traded my 2011 MY12 TDI Passat. Funnily enough I went to do the same deal back in August - just before the emissions issue surfaced. I thought I'd taking a hiding on the trade value but no. Different dealer but pretty much bang on the same money for the trade.

So I’m looking at a GTI PP for my wife. Drove a used MY14 with leather, DAP and 25Ks on it, but dealer wanted too much for it.

There is a brand new MY15 GTI PP with metallic paint, leather, DAP II (I hope) and sunroof for $51,888 on road. It is the right colour with the heated seats my wife insists on and ACC that the DAP includes. We have ACC on my Passat R36 and it is fantastic, plus the other DAP features are important for a family car.

We’re not in love with iPhones so the Car Play upgrade for the MY16 model is not a deal breaker. My wife is coming out of a 2008 Mazda3 that has nothing (well, the Bluetooth stopped working ages ago) and I’m just learning about the joys of RNS510…!

My wife is keen on another Mazda3 (SP25 Astina) or a CX3. I like Mazdas but I will be driving the car as well and a GTI PP is a more discerning choice in my eyes.

The only downside is that the GTI PP is at a country dealership a couple hours outside Sydney.

    What do people think?

Last week I took delivery of my new MY16 Golf GTI PP. I am so glad I chose the MY16 with DAP rather than a MY15 as the upgrades are well worth it.
