Can anyone please tell me the weight of the GTI PP? The US boys says it's 30 odd lbs heavier than the GTI.
Cheers.

I believe it's around 40kg heavier than the standard GTI, although I've seen this figure fluctuate from 30 odd to 40. Definitely more than 40lbs, although the comparison in the USA may be skewed by their different specs.

Legend, thanks as always Dutch
According to the "Golf Performance Range" brochure issued by Volkswagen Australian for MY2014 vehicles, the tare or unladen weight of Golf GTI's are:
GTI Manual: 1313 kg
GTI DSG: 1324 kg
GTI-PP (DSG): 1364 kg
Most of the 40 kg difference in the DSG models can be attributed to the mechanical LSD, larger wheels and discs of the PP model. Interestingly, the fuel consumption specification between these two DSG models is the same for urban, extra-urban and combined, which means you can have your cake and eat it.
I knew I'd seen the 40kg gap somewhere. I suspect any fuel variance is likely to be 0.049l/100km or less so wouldn't show up in the stats.. or they tweaked the economy for the tests as part of the slight variation in engine tune.
If the model differentiation exists on Mk8 I'd still only be buying the PP for the xenons now, and then looking what I could do about the wheels.

Why do you think the difference in weight between a manual Mk7 GTI and DSG Mk7 GTI is only 11kg where on the Mk6 it is 20kg?

I now think the Volkswagen Australia brochure is wrong. Looking at the Volkswagen UK brochure, they quote a difference of 19kg between GTI manual and DSG, and 20kg between GTI-PP manual and DSG. This makes much more sense, particularly if you compare the data for the R in the Volkswagen Australia brochure which shows a 19kg difference between the manual and DSG models.
As the original question was comparing the weights of the standard GTI to GTI-PP, the Volkswagen UK brochure specifies a 31kg difference, which explains Dutch77's comments. It should be remembered the UK version of the GTI-PP is fitted standard with 18 inch Austin's, so these will be lighter than the 19 inch Santiago's, which are fitted here as standard. There will be other differences in weight due to different specification levels.
Does anyone know where I can get some paddle extensions for mk 7 GTI PP?
I don't believe anyone has sourced any yet, surprising given how long the Golf has been released in Europe and Asia for. The US has only just had it released however and they usually drive a lot of the development of this product so wouldn't expect them to be too far off.
Worth keeping an eye on the Golf accessories thread in any case as a few others are searching..
