Over the past weekend I went GTI shopping as VW dealers were advertising EOFY sale. Not much stock and not much negotiation.

I've been told that if I want a white GTI manual with no options I probably won't have it for Christmas. If, and it's a big "if", I decide to wait I might as well add a couple more months and get a 2015 build. 8 – 9 months wait for a bog standard, NIL optioned GTI?

My new GTI P seems to be lacking the cover between the main engine cover and the radiator? in every other respect its great

I made the same decision when I purchased mine about 3 weeks ago. Less negotiation available but have the car now. Manuals especially are rare.

I bought a white, manual with Leather fitted here in Au. Build time was looking like Nov if I wanted a factory order.

Same with the Mk 7 Golf R.
No one has yet worked out why they did it.

Some people have the cover but not others. I'll check mine on Thurs when I receive it .

Just drove a GTI PP and an R. I could buy the PP I drove so did just that! Both beautiful cars. Just have to off load the Merc now. A250 anyone? Trying to get some more bucks or I'll trade it in to my dealer. They are good enough to put the GTI away for a few weeks for me to see if I can sell privately.
