That's strange your xenons aren't bright. Mine are very bright and better then any halogen lights I've had in other cars.

And no your can't manually adjust the height of them, it's all automatic.

I was driving in the mountains this evening and I noticed the xenon's are not that bright when pitch black (prob due to only one set of the "u" lights active) also it seems to point too low to the road and I would like it a bit higher. You can change it with the halogen lights from the switch near the headline switch, but it is missing on my car.
    Hope this helps:

Annoyed we didn't get this option as well in the GTI...
I think you'll find all mk7 Golfs have it. Not only Comfortlines and Highlines - my base model also has and it's gone off quite a few times on long trips. On the MFD a sign comes up saying "Driver Alert (a picture of a cup of hot coffee) Take a Break." If you don't stop it will repeat after about 15 minutes.

    WiFI for Golf Mk7

I'd like to add WiFi function to my head unit (MK7 GTI). I don't see the "advanced telephone pack" in the Australian brochure. Is it standard on Golf here or available as an extra?

I have a Chi wireless charger I use for my iphone so the phones connector isn't available to plug in.

My plan was to connect WiFi to the Head Unit using an adapter like this: Edimax EW-7811Un Wireless N150 Nano USB Adapter (Worlds Smallest) | Stardot Technology - Computer Sales & Repairs, Capalaba

I'm not looking for internet connectivity through the LAN - just to have the headunit think my phone is connected so I can access stuff like the album art etc.

Anyone tried this or have any suggestions?

AU Golf 7 headunits have no internet connectivity at all, and don't use the internet when connected to a phone. Album artwork comes from the audio file (via sd card) or from the phone if streaming via BT audio (if the phone supports that).

iPhone doesn't work via USB with the golf headunit anyway, so you'll be streaming using BT.

A USB wifi adapter will never work with any VW headunit.

Thanks. I found the large thread regarding sd cards etc and have opted to copy my music to a USB stick.

resized the embedded artwork and it should now be ok I expect.

I guess this way I can have the phone synced with BT for calls and use the USB for music.

That's one way to do although this way you lose the ability to plug in a USB cable and charge your phone and you would need to use the front 12V socket with a USB adapter instead if you wanted to charge. Initially I did what you were thinking but then used an SD card for music (glovebox) so that the USB port is free without any untidy cables around the gearknob.

Ill get an SD card then but I may still need to use the 12v socket for my phone charger if it is better than running a cable from the USB. I have a 12V that sits flush in the socket.

I have the GTI PP after test driving the Scirocco, GTI and GTI R and the PP had the best feel making sharp turns and maneuvering the road with the R a close second. the Secroco was great on a straight but felt unsteady maneuvering similar to the GTI particularly if your steering and accelerating at the same time. I love driving the R but it didn't feel as nimble or sharp in the steering making tight turns. In the end the PP and R were the ones that I decided to choose between and while I enjoyed the sound and power of the R the PP felt more drivable around the city where i mostly drive. The other reason was around a $10,000 price difference which i couldn't justify also resale may be better on the PP as there are less of this model available than the GTI or R.
Has any one else tested all three cars?

I dont think thats right I have the the GTI P with the larger breaks from the R and have the Electronic parking Brake although I don't like it even though it does make for a neater center console.
