OK, so my dealer said i can get the R LED tail lights at cost price. Bit steep though so don't know if i will do it.
$1709 to get it done! Sounds a bit too much imho, think it can be done for cheaper i reckon
Once off I assume? We get stung with an annual fee in SA, about $180 IIRC.
The dealer may include it, I already my plates sitting on my desk collecting dust from my Mk6. However I'd tend to negotiate on items the dealer has margin on - plates are obviously on-charged direct so usually wouldn't be a great bargaining chip. Like I said above though there are definitely discounts to be had on Mk7s though.

Jeez Kenny thats crazy money. I had R led tail lights on my MK6 GTI ordered them from an OEM supplier in Germany for $700 and had them fitted/re-coded by a VW specialist for $100 (many people fitted them + coded themselves).
I suggest you do some research buy direct from Europe and them have a non dealer VW specialist fit them (coding may be needed as well which your service guys can do).
btw, its very early days in the supply cycle of R's etc, they may not yet be easy to source

Looks like the 206kW Astra VXR is back in the game as a (3-door, manual) GTI competitor.

I'd expect as you suggest that price to come down. If I was you Kenny I'd be sticking to my PP tails for now. If that cost comes back to three figures then reconsider - if it does I might even look into it eventually.
I'm still not sold on the LEDs this time around, although they are growing on me, but sitting at the dealer yesterday conveniently an R and a PP GTI were by the exit driveway and so I could compare them easily and the smoked/tinted R look was 100% better than the 'cherry' on the PP. I'd definitely be looking at options to get that darkened look.
I'd also be looking at getting my hands on a cable and coding that full LED brake light in per the other thread, that in itself makes it look better, I can only guess something ADR related meant they had to use the reduced lights as standard?

Hi all, just wondering what setting you drive your GTI in? Do you leave it in Normal, Comfort, Sport or have your individual setup?

Ours is left in normal most of the time.

Comfort for me. I'm getting old..
The ride is superb - not dissimilar to that of my CX5 GT which admittedly rides on 19s.
I don't miss my non-DCC Mk6 on VWR springs at all.

I leave it on normal most of the time, but if i'm driving with someone else, I go to comfort mode. I agree with Dutch, the comfort actually means comfort.
