It doesn't matter the speed (though it does effect the severity of the jolt), and it's only 1st into 2nd. Occasionally I see the traction control light flick as it does it too.

To me it feels almost like it's not disengaging or that the engine cut doesn't work. I asked at service and was even able to demonstrate but was told it could still just be learning and to see how it goes. To me the fact that it's in manual surely means it it's not trying learn like in auto modes.

This is my third DSG car and I haven't had this before.

    Anyone ever heard of it?
Yeah, 99.99.99.99.99.99/100% sure it's losing traction from your manual changes... Go faster, from 1st, change manual - 2nd, gaurentee it will be very severe, TC light comming on = Loosing traction. Either that or a mechatronics issue - very doubtful.

It does it at a dawdle too (obviously no TC light though, but the change is still harsh)

Not sure why I'd do that.

Anyone else heard of a similar issue?

Why wouldn't you? It will tell you if it's a traction problem or not, if the car is revving high (in powerband) and you change gears suddenly, that's the pristine opportunity to see if it's a traction issue.

Then again if you don't want help you could always take it back to dealer so they can keep the car all day and then you go to pick it up after being without your car for the whole day only for them to tell you that they couldn't find anything.

No need to go pointing the troll finger, rather harsh way to treat a fellow forum member.

No never had it jump in S or D. It doesn't matter what driving mode either.

I'm thinking I might stick to D and S for a while to see if it "wears in" so to speak.

How many kays have you done, Dening?

Come out to our next VW cruise this Sunday and we can have a look at it. One of the regular cruisers is also a mechanic at German Auto. There should be at least one other Mk7 GTI there as well, as a basis for comparison.
