Normally they just replace them as a sealed unit. Mechatronics have been a problem for years
As title states my MK7.5 has been diagnosed with a leak from the sealed Mechatronic unit and needs to be opened refilled and resealed ($1,150). The car is 9 months out of warranty and I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer if Volkswagen Aus will help with half or full coverage.
Has anyone else suffered from a similar DSG leak and had it resolved?
Is this a common problem with these units?

yes its an easy fix, the dq381 cover gasket or bolts are just not torqued down enough, if your leak is from the front cover, just torque down, clean and refill with measurements temp.
VW Australia have agreed to pay 60% of the cost. Booked in at the dealer next week, good outcome.
