If you are anal you could measure your oil before and after driving oil at 100 degrees plus and get an idea about how cruel you are being to oil with short cold trips
    .

You'll find that during a short trip the oil will struggle to get to 100 degrees, the damage is done on the way up to 100 degrees. The water issue would then be secondary to that. The primary issue would be the lack of viscosity in the oil at those low temps.

When driving in Normal then pulling back, does it put the gearbox only in sport or the suspension and dampers too?

The gear lever only changes gearchanges (DSG) from D to S or M, it has no effect on DCC suspension (but S mode engine is more responsive as it keeps the revs higher).

Dampers (and engine response, soundaktor, exhaust valves if fitted etc) is changed by driving modes: Normal, Individual, Race or [wash your mouth out with soap] Eco.

In my defence I should say that I often had to make deliveries from work during the day so I needed the car at work. In my further defence, after work I would go to the pub & it was only 50 metres so I would walk there and when I got back I would push the car home because I'd had a few.

As with the coolant system, does the oil system have a system to make it heat up quickly? The coolant system is easily the best I have ever had as it gets to normal in under 5 minutes but the oil temp takes 15 minutes (on a 15 degr. celcius day) to start registering when it shows 50 degrees celcius. The owner manual says to wait until that happens which is frustrating. In winter, can I blank off an oil cooler somewhere and rely on the coolant system to keep oil temp under control?

There is someone at my golf club (don't know the person) who has a MK7.5 White Golf R. It looks like the car has a moon roof, not a panoramic roof. The black glass roof goes all the way to the rear spoiler. I don't think this is available in Australia is it not?
Just curious as I look the look of it. All the cars I have seen with the sunroof have like only half the roof as the black glass, not the full roof....

It is the 4 door hatch as well btw.
    Which city you in ?

My Golf R SE has a buzzing type rattle emanating from the triangular black plastic moulding just behind the interior rear view mirror which I believe houses the lane guidance sensors. It occurs under acceleration and disappears if I put my finger on it. Has anyone else had this issue. Obviously it’s still under warranty but any info I can give the dealer would be handy. Cheers.
