I don't know if leasing companies and the broker I was using are the same thing, but I had a leasing company chase a price on a car for me once and it was nothing all that impressive.

Another caveat, for those kids interested, is that some on some cars, limited editions for example, they just can't do fleet deals.
Agreed on your points - for a lot of people it will end up better, and take the hassle out of the process. I appreciate that buying cars for many is like a visit to the dentist.

For me it is a game, one I play way too regularly.

Regarding leasing companies v brokers, they may or may not be the same thing, it will depend on who it is. Leasing companies are usually part of, or are, salary packagers and they're also interested in the finance involved (which at times is a lot more profitable than selling cars). A true broker is only looking at the price negotiation and couldn't care less how you pay for the car. And both sides will cross over into each other's territory.

Finally you are also mostly correct on the last point as well, there is usually minimal incentive for high demand product to be discounted. Having said that, that certainly was not true for one limited run that avid readers of the Mk7 threads would have interest in.

Generally, if the bend is around 15 degrees or more the ALG will drop out - easy to see when the lane icon switches from green to orange.

So I shouldn't be concerned seeing a bunch of lunatic VW drivers cruising around with a 'look mum no hands' expression - they're just VWW members..

Well, you'll know what's happened if you see one stuck in a wall on the outside of a 20 degree bend...

Roughly how much would I be able to negotiate for a 2018 gti with all the options... current no haggle price is $54000 inc DA, metallic paint, luxary and infotainment in DSG.

Would it be possible to get to $50000 drive away or I'm I being too optimistic? I think 10% is achievable?

Can anyone share their experiences with haggling.

    Thank you
We got our Grey MY18 GTI all options for 52000. We could have gotten down to 49K IF we could wait until April. The car we bought was the only one in stock, brand new in the state at the time and just happened to be a 3 hour drive away so was too good to pass up.

Anyone bought a fully loaded R (non Wolfsburg) recently? If you have, what price did you get (if you don't mind sharing)?

I tried mine out on some sweeping single lane 80kmh bends today. I was unimpressed - it would run outwards until it was nearly on the line, then jerk backwards towards the centre, the run outwards again etc etc, not smooth progress at all. It was obviously trying to keep me in the lane, but only intervened when it was nearly out of the lane.
