Install of the Focal Sub and Pioneer Amp all done, just need to tidy up a few excess wire lengths.

For under $500 investment the bass improvement is well and truly worth the $ and effort. Glad I didn't hang out for a Wolfie with DynaAudio now, IMO mine sounds better than the Mark 7.5 DynaAudio Golf I tested out at a dealer last week.

You know the rules... Pictures or it didn't happen.... Would like to see more details of this. Thinking about a bit of a bass upgrade myself!

His photo is in his previous post.
I want the base as well but the only issue for me is that I use the boot and the way the sub is fitted, it takes up most of the boot space.
If only VW had the Helix plug n play unit that would fit in the spare wheel and not replace it...

Yeah the Focal Sub box is pretty big and does take up quite a bit of space, but that isn't an issue typically for me, and it is easy to remove if I need the extra boot space for a day etc, the amp neatly fits under the boot lid right next to the spare wheel, I just had to trim an inch of 2 off the foam spare wheel jack tray thing under the lid to fit the Pioneer Amp in place there.
Will send a picture of that once I have cleaned up the wiring under there next weekend.

Sound is so much better now with front and rear speakers not having to work so hard for the bass, well worth the effort I think.

Thanks had not appreciated that was installed... wow huge box sitting in boot is a deal breaker for me. Prefer the ones that slip inside the spare wheel if that is an option for the R. Having kids and sport etc... precludes a big crate sitting full time in the rear for my needs.

You can do it for the R, it is called the Helix Plug and Play sub. You can buy it from VW spare parts and it sits inside the spare wheel space. But you have to remove the spare wheel. That is the deal breaker for me. I will wait a year or so and see if VW come out with anything similar to DynaAudio.

Question for anyone who has collected their MK7.5:

Picked up my Wolfsburg Golf R Wagon in White today, I couldn't help but notice the absence of a proper battery cover. It's just a wrap around job. No lid on top bag or plastic housing.

    Anyone else seen this?

And you can't use the goo and compressor as it will stuff up the tyre pressure monitor sensors...

I found an internet image of a Helix unit that appeared to fit inside the spare. Anybody know what that is?
