Does anyone know if you can order the R with Pretoria wheels (black) or are they exclusive for the Wolfsburg Edition?

The stock Spielberg's are possibly the worst wheels I've seen on a Golf.

Five figure driveaway as in 50k? Im thinking of waiting til near the end of the year and hopefully be able to get a pure white dsg with infotainment and extended warranty for 45k drive away(with a trade in).

Yupe as in 50k. I will be trading in my existing car as well. Hopefully can get a good price on it to bring the figure down the 45k mark.

Spoke to a dealer or two today, no one can confirm this will happen, my impression from them both is that the answer is no Wolfsburg will come with the Grey version of the Pretorias.

Also can confirm from today's jaunt, the performance model (GTI/R) launch date is around 13-15 Aug. Rumours they might get 1 of an R or a GTI into each dealership around late June as a display model. Talked about deposits, varied from hmm no its binding and you lose your deposit if you change your mind to nah! its fine, we'll refund it if you change your mind. Guess its all down to the contract.

Last Wolfsburg release (MK7) the dealer's had access to plenty even after official release date had gone (i.e. they didn't sell out the moment they were available). They were also still able to negotiate on price. And they could get you one from another dealers allocation if they didn't have the particular colour/options you wanted.

I just got back from dealers 6 weeks ago put a 1k holding deposit on the alltrack got it for 54k on road with all my options i listed in other post so not a huge discount but it will be one of the 1st if not the 1st 7.5 alltrack on road in aus def the 1st red fully loaded one .

Good luck with the Alltrack. My brother in law has one and absolutely loves it!

Oh btw go for the infotainment pack def worth the extra money imo the 9.2 inch discover pro and 400w sound system are awesome

I wasn't too sure about the info pack. Will give it a good thought. 400W Dynaaudio is tempting. Based on what I read, the sub woofer fits in the space saver and hence no bootspace will be taken up. Is that right?

Yup fits inside spare wheel so no extra space used

Thanks i am looking forward to it was a toss up between alltrack and gti but diesel economy and awd won out for me

Oh guys one thing i found out from the dealer today

You can get a full led tail light with dynamic indicators and smoky glass for 900 bucks!!

Yeah but not for the gti sadly😩. Just hoping it is the same led tail lights on the gti just without the dynamic indicators. Can live with that if that's the case.

Fingers crossed for the GTI. I think the GTI will have the following taillights though. They are apparently LED, but not the premium ones you see with the dynamic turn signals. To be honest though, i dont mind the look of them. They are a step up from the mk7 but not as cool as the new dynamic ones.

that can only mean it'll be a small sub woofer which will produce poor sounding bass for the price VW is charging
