    Standard commission.

Actually I’ve wondered whether it’s ‘legal’ to just hit up a sales rep from a dealership and pay them a ‘commission’ (brown paper bag style) if they give you a super price.
Unfortunately, of course, they still need to go to the business owner for a final number anyway. I had a good experience with National Car Brokers, but some guys from Newcastle on this forum claim they got even better prices from their local dealers than I got in a 9 car group deal in Sydney at the end of the last financial year. Might be time for a saunter away from your main city hub there ?

It isn't designed as a auto drive feature, but still a great one at that!
If you leave your hands off ALA disables and falls back to the regular lane assist. From there the safety measures kick in if you are still hands off, it'll try to wake you up with some vibrations and failing that I believe the car slows, stops and puts the hazards on to alert other drivers something has likely happened to the driver.

Any different from tipping a waiter at a restaurant, to get the window seat, or paying a bouncer to let you slip in front of the lineup at a nightclub?

I take your point, I just wonder if it happens, or is illegal.

In the first instance though you're effectively paying extra to get the bonus.

In the case of a car all deals are going to be signed off by the same guy as Steve said so there'd be nothing gained.

Going a tip or something for the dealer would be more applicable if you say wanted to get your hands on the first <insert car here>. No different to being a preferred or regular customer.

Very different. A tip is something you do because you're happy with the service and is generally overt but you are proposing to give an under an under the counter payment to an employee to get favourable treatment to the detriment of their employer ie an illegal bribe. It is also illegal under tax rules as their commissions are taxable through the employer and your under the counter payment would be seen as tax avoidance. Probably a good reason why the sales manager has the final say on any deal.

Mate, these guys are an absolute no brainer... carconnect : Buying a new car has never been easier

You'll basically get fleet pricing through them and your car is delivered to your door.

I left my ACC on and let go of the steering wheel and the car easily navigated me through several corners before beeping at me to retake the wheel. My passengers still couldn't get over my "Jesus take the wheel" jokes.

    Hi everyone,

I am 90% committed to buying a GTI 2018 Auto.

Roughly how much would I be able to negotiate for a 2018 gti with all the options... current no haggle price is $54000 inc DA, metallic paint, luxary and infotainment in DSG.

Would it be possible to get to $50000 drive away or I'm I being too optimistic? I think 10% is achievable?

Can anyone share their experiences with haggling.

    Thank you

i think that would be well doable. You can go a couple of ways. State 50k and don’t waver. Be prepared to walk. Or start low and work up to the 50k cutoff. Friendly but firm will get you over the line. Good luck!
