Man, this wait gonna kill me.... I been constantly watching YouTube vids of the car and I can't freekn wait.

I must say, the GTI def looks meaner and better than the R, I just love the Red line at the front of the car and also how it now wraps around the front DRLs. Also the Red stitching in the interior looks so much better.
They could have put like a blue linein at the front of the car for the R, or yellow or another colour, they could have differentiated the R from the rest.

Anyway power and 4 wheel drives makes up for that
My dealer said they will be registering the R they have in the showroom hopefully next week so I can take it for a test drive/spin soon. Can't wait, never driven an R or 4 wheel drive in a sports car. Just wish it looked meaner than the GTI.

Nah, sorry, thought they had one in the showroom but they didn't. He said there was a delay in the gti and wouldn't come in till toward the end of the month. Also forgot to ask about the lights (I was too busy thinking about the R ).
Looking at online vids though. Overseas the gti cone standard with the same rear lights as the R. So sure what VWA will do.

Also Kachingg, I agree about why VW won't spec it. But I know why they won't.... $$$$. They know if people really want it then they will upspec to Wolfsburg and they will make more $$$.

Don't forget, mate, it would only take you a minute or two to flip an email to "Oge" VW Australia (vwassist@volkswagen.com.au) and ask why an option available on the TSI base model is not available on the top line variant.

They won't respond to my lone voice, no matter how loud I've been. I've even mentioned getting my car serviced at a VW specialist, and only visiting a dealer when absolutely necessary in response, to get them thinking.

Won't make a difference though. They won't offer it and too late once the car is built.
I'll send em an email though.

I think the new R looks much better than its predecessor.

The GTI already looked aggressive, so the 7.5 just maintains that look.

But the R finally looks decent & differentiates itself from the standard Golfs imo.

Mine is sitting on the showroom floor with a sold sign. I think it should be able to be picked up on August 14 but the dealer told my insurer (who needed to check details as it is too new to be in their data base) that the 16th will be the earliest. Killing me is correct.
