Yeah I'm all good mate. Girl at the back was probably on her phone or something. Luckily the test car only had a scratch, their insurance will deal with it.
The same day I also had (again) the engine still running whilst I was stopped, but the display had the stop/start as active. But both glitches have now cleared. Maybe they've used Windows 95 back there somewhere. Anyway, you'd have to be sure they've kept all the critical systems simple and sturdy ? . . . ...... . . . . . . . Right ?
2017 - Golf R 7.5 - Blue - DSG - Proper Roof - DAP - Res' delete - Dynaudio delete
2008 - Mazda 2 - (Maybe my first child scared me a bit) -1998 - Wrx (modded up to but not including forged pistons)
1988 - Corolla TwinCam - (couldn't insure a 323 Turbo)
1967 - Tonka Tip Truck - Red with 2 inch plastic rims and a massive sand scoop.
I hope so. We have a work i30 that loses all power and electronics randomly (like an EMP hit it), so I'm kinda worried about these glitches, last time it happened was on the motor way.
So far My biggest concern in the Golf was when the MIBII screen froze, blanked out after 10min and rebooted and came back up.
I really hope that doesn't happen to the active info dash.
Hi Guys,
I own a GOlf 7.5 Rline and recently my engine have been making a funny noise when the gear changes between 1 to 3. It doesn't happen all the time but today It happened 3 times. Hence I'm a little. It sounded like an immature gear change like driving a manual car, a screeching sound. It's quite loud when it happens, more so externally. I was wondering if you guys have any issues with it. Why didn't I bring it back to the dealer to check? Well I'm pretty sure that they will say they can't hear anything or they can't detect the problem at the time of diagnosis. Maybe you guys may be able to sort of pin point possible area and get them to check.

Very high probability this is a failed clutch pack in the DSG. You should refer it to the dealer as it may be a warranty claim and you wouldn’t want to jeopardise that in any way by having somebody else mess with it.
Your description certainly sounds the same as my issue in my 92TSI. It was clutch pack and was replaced under warranty no issue.
That you have a 7.5 is disturbing if it is a clutch pack as I had hoped that issue may Herve been fixed by now. Mine was a MY16 from late 2015
Hi Guys,
I own a Mk7.5 golf r.
Over the last month, when starting up and then taking off from a stand still, my car would suddenly shudder/pause like its stuck in neutral (whilst revving).
When this happens the instrument panel goes from automatic ‘D’ mode to ‘manual’ mode and back to normal automatic mode, like it’s glitching.
The whole issue only lasts for around 2 seconds before the car is back to normal and driving normal. There are no error lights and has only happened on three occasions. Car has done approx 7000km. I can’t replicate the issue either.
I’ve stopped by my non-dealer vw specialist but unfortunately no definitive error codes appeared when scanned.
Has anyone experienced this?
Cheers.

I am about to get a 7.5 highline and have few questions.
Are the side mirrors the same as the pre facelift 7 ?
Has traffic been enabled ?
Are there inner brake lights that cab be programmed to work?
