    Tried pushing harder — still couldn't make either mirror fold.
    They appear to be bolted solidly to the door mounts — sufficiently so that I can move the car with them when the handbrake's off.

    Does the source of that photo state that is specifically of a non-power foldable mirror? I've seen power folding mirrors that look like that so I wonder if it is just a photo of that.

    Non-power folding mirrors will fold the exact same as power folding mirrors, but you manually have to move them.

    I just went out and folded mine back. They sort of rotate back and up, not straight back.

    Well there you go.. Two people have confirmed they manually fold.

    The mirrors on my 6R polo are very hard to fold, to the point where when they eventually do let go you feel like you're breaking them...
