Mk 7 highline mirror folding / puddle lights

Hi all, I'm probably mistaken but I though my highline mirrors were supposed to fold in, dip and have little lights that point down the side of the door. I've got none of that. What have you guys observed on you mirror in this regard?

No fold in or light. To get the left hand mirror to dip when in reverse you need to have your mirror adjustment knob set on L

No, they don't fold and the downlight isn't fitted here.

Probably prompted by spare parts sales and unlike the Mk 6, which has mirror housings that swivel in either direction on impact, Australian Mk 7 (semi-)Highlines have the mirrors rigidly mounted to ensure that the first careless parker that hits them will break them off.

I never thought to check before I bought the car — might well have made me reconsider.

In a previous life I ran a fleet of vans with similar setup — mirrors were among the most frequent replacements, so breakage is probably only a matter of time.

The reverse dipping function (for the left mirror only) is there but you'll probably have to enable it.

There is a thread on how to do it already clearly obvious in the title of it . It also tells you in the manual

Oh good, so it wasn't me with my Asian muscle...

Pity they didn't even offer an option for the folding mirrors.

Yeh, I saw that. My question was also referring to the folding and the lights. I had a Jetta loan car that did all of this and was great.

I was told they could be folded in manually, they better coz I have a narrow garage and folding in the mirrors (even manually) would help. Still I'm pretty annoyed power folding mirrors weren't available as an option on any of Golfs.
