Surprising to hear the number of issues with these 3Q0 discover media units.

We have sold plenty of the (European Released) Discover Pro 3G0 high units - Discover Pro and not a single unit has faced this issue.

Perhaps it's time for an upgrade MIBII Not Working Intermittently

I'm having issues with both of my MIB2 units, in the Scirocco and Polo. No issues with the reverse camera but issues with the head unit intermittently switching off, issues with bluetooth music streaming in the Polo (my wife has an iPhone), and issues with Bluetooth connectivity in the Scirocco (I have to manually pair my Samsung Note 4 every time, and the car won't import contacts) - never had this issue on my mk6 GTI with same phone.

Took it to VW for the 1000km check up for them to try and fix it without success. Have since emailed them, no info yet. I will follow up on Monday.

Had my car in for a second time today and it seems to be running fine now. No explanation given as to how they screwed the upgrade up on the first attempt. Some of the issues I see here are different to the original problem (screen turning off) but that doesn't mean there isn't a deeper problem with these devices.

The Golf went to the dealer today for a fix on the rattling sunvisor and they mentioned the update for the head unit. it was explained to them that the head unit was trouble free and had never given any issues whatsoever and please don't update it at all. The service advisor then explained that VWA required it to be updated for whatever reason so it was going to be done. I should have taken the car away and not let them anywhere near it as last night it the no boot issue happened for the first time so it goes back Monday if no boot happens again. What they have not realised is that the car is going to stay and there as we do not need the Golf and when they prove it is fixed we will collect it. As I wrote earlier on there has been a number of buy backs over this issue and we might be having another because we do not want the car back without a proven fix and their bad luck is we do not need or depend on it to be on the road. If the problem was a one off for some reason and does not happen again before Monday I am not going to take back on one instance so let's see what happens.

After the forced update on Friday we have had two glitches over the weekend when prior to that it had not given any problems since being bought. Not happy Jan but I want to video the issues if they re-occur then the dealer gets the car back until they find a permanent fix and it will stay there as long as it takes. What bugs me is they have updated a system that was working perfectly and always had.

    UPDATE

Had my car in at VW today, they were able to get a fault code, and have confirmed I need a whole new head unit. It's been ordered and I have it booked in for this Friday to be installed. Will report back once it's been replaced to see if everything is all good.
