any chance you could tell me which dealer serviced you so I could ask them more about the update? Thanks!
Gerald Slaven VW in Belconnen, Canberra. Phone: 0262222405. Colin is the Service Manager, however he was clueless when I contacted him after the install and asked him to verify software number.

    But wait there's more!!!

Since the download a new problem has occurred which results in a useless sat Nav display. The bottom pop up menu randomly displays then disappears and the panning icon under the North icon appears on its own and the map display starts to pan (move around) on its own resulting in a non responsive screen. This happens intermittently with no other system issues thus far, except the second or two break in music that occurs only once when listening to mp3's via Bluetooth, which also occurred with the previous version.

My car is booked in with McGrath VW at Liverpool in Sydney tomorrow for a first time check over. When I spoke to the Service Advisor to confirm the booking, I suggested a complete uninstall of the software followed by a reinstall. He agreed to this, but I won't be holding my breath for a good result.

It will be interesting to see if other posters have to same sat Nav issue following install.

I'll report back with the result.

That's what I thought when I read it, I doubt there is going to be a fix anytime soon that will put all of these problems to rest once and for all.

Sorry folks, the uninstall and install did not happen due to the TPI (whatever that is) system being down. Due to other commitments, I won't be able to try again for a couple of weeks. By then perhaps others will have better luck.

I just thought I'd follow up. Yesterday my car went to VW to get the unit changed. After a whole day there, I got a call telling me that the new unit doesn't work, there's no Nav, Bluetooth and app connect, only radio works !

The car is back there today to try and fix it, if they can't, they'll have to order a third unit from Germany.

    Jesus! Lol

VRJ: interesting- The dealer service manager that I contacted some time ago on another matter said that "updates" to the MIB unit could not be wound-back. I was told that all that could be done, once the update had been installed was to use another update

Which dealer is telling porkies? Please keep us informed of progress

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

Alright still unlucky, apparently they don't know how to activate the nav, bluetooth and app connect. They need to wait for a new software update that will activate it all, until then, they can't do nothing. I'm really pissed off

My friend had the same issue where the dealer techs had trouble waking up the new unit but with lots of conferring with VWA, they finally fixed it. Ask your dealer tech to consult Burwin VW or Ferntree Gully VW as they are now called.
