Here is the technical release from VW America. I wonder why Australia is lagging behind.

Jake, I really hope they'll sort it out asap. I'm pissed off.

Thanks for the link, I paid almost $60K + lawyer costs and now NCAT costs - close to $1000 extra dealing with their crap service.

I've also been waiting for a fix. This information from the US leaves us with some hope at least

I'm sure it's all stock standard wording (and in this case all cars currently fit the bill anyway) but it talks to only doing the update to cars within warranty??

To those with issues, does this mean you have cars with no radio, bluetooth etc and it's just too bad until VW get around to it?

Far out! I spoke with VW customer service yesterday who appointed a case officer.

I know it sounds far fetched, bit given what's going on with the emission scandal, if they can't find a solution, I know for a fact that a current affair would be interested in hearing from us.

I have a blank screen every morning when I start the car (since I bought it on 28/7/15), it can last from 2 minutes right up to 15 minutes.

So that means nothing that comes through the ICC is available.
My garage is on a 90 degree angle to my house and I reverse out and swing around to exit the driveway forwards, when purchasing the Golf I thought how handy it will be to have a reversing camera especially with a 2yr old and a 4yr old - And what pi$$es me off is that I have never had the reverse camera work in the whole time I've owned it!
It makes my blood boil every morning when I leave home knowing the smug vw customer care pr&^ks have fobbed me off and put my problem in the too hard basket.

Kiaorana: the appointment of a "case officer" is normal protocol for VW Australia - sadly in my experience "it don't mean Sh#t"!
It's simply their way of fooling the hapless customer into thinking that something is being done.

I truly hope that I'm wrong, but what you need to do is to wait a period of time, then call the case manager and move progressively up the command chain at VW Australia. At some point the whole process will freeze, and the usual glacial pace for which VW Australia is famous will kick-in.

    Don
Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

It's very screwed up when you can be ignored for such a long period of time.

Have you tried fair trading (and once they fail to be useful) NCAT?

I'd be putting your desired outcomes in writing and sending them in on paper (along with a scanned copy via email if you like).

    Options would include:
    a) Replace the unit now to resolve the issue.
    b) Provide a loan vehicle with similar feature until such time as they can resolve the issue (and leave your car with them).
(or pay for the loan car you are going to hire until such time as your car does what it's supposed to do).

You then move into the more extreme measures of:

    c) Replace the vehicle with a working one of the same spec.
    d) Provide a full refund.

request everything in writing. While detailed written notes with names, dates and times are nice. Nothing beats written records. If they call, request they put any offers to you in writing.

The usual disclaimers apply, ie I'm not a lawyer etc etc.

Skipped fair trading because they can't enforce anything, went to a lawyer and requested refund or replacement as I had waited 3 months at that stage - they ignored the lawyers letter and chose not to respond.
Lodged an application with NCAT last week and waiting to hear back from them.

Jake, yes, that what it means. For the past three weeks, I haven't been able to listen to music, use satnav or my Bluetooth at all. It just doesn't start.

I've just been reading up on the update that was released in the US and the UK (91N9 UPDATE), turns out that it is not for R models and even if it was I wouldn't get my hopes up because it appears the update is not working correctly.
Failing to upload, jamming, causing errors etc....
