    Lose ECU In MK7 R

Hey I was just having the usual engine bay and fluid check the other day and noticed my ECU inside that locked black steel case is lose and wobbles about. It’s the first time I’ve noticed this and just want to make sure either it’s normal or it should be secure. I can grab the wiring look that comes out the front and shake the ECU.

    Cheers

It should be solid - not sure if there’s a bracket though or how it’s affixed

The battery has a bracket at the bottom front holding it in place

Has the car been chipped? If so, some companies need to remove the ECU in order to tune it and they may not have put it back correctly.

It certainly shouldn't be loose - perhaps what ever clips or fasteners they use to secure it have broken or worked their way loose? You will need to have a poke around under the bonnet to see whats going on.

Checked it. It’s solid as. 5mm lateral movement as the frame flexes on its attachments. 0mm fore and aft.
