I'd suspect the Alltrack is more than just springs.
Possibly lower control arms, and also strut spacers.
Hello,
I'm looking to get some more ground clearance for my mk7 Golf. Has anyone lifted the suspension before?
I've rang around a few suspension places, they haven't got back to me if they can custom make springs, but that will be expensive. One option is to retrofit the Golf Alltrack springs onto my car which seems doable, it would lift by 1.5". Prices and part numbers from VW:
- Front left and right (5Q0411105DM) $222.20 each
- Rear left and right (5Q0511115AM) $201.30 each
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Maybe look for a wrecked Alltrack and buy the complete suspension ?

Why do you need more ground clearance?
Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.

If the AllTrack is like a Skoda Scout then part of the lift is tyres & the other part is springs.
eg: The Scout uses 225/50r17 compared to the std 225/45r17 which gives an extra 10-12mm ground clearance. You can usually pick up that size with wheels cheap off Ebay / Gumtree as it's Audi A4 standard. I ran them on my lowered Octavia and they scraped on the front if you hit a bump mid-corner. On a standard height vehicle they'd be fine. They made the speedometer a perfect 100=100 too.
K-Mac in Rockdale / Banksia will make springs to whatever height and spring rate you want and they will be less than the OEM springs.
You might also look at Tiguan springs or some spring spacers (common in Europe). Weitec do a "Spring Distance Kit" that gives a 20mm lift and there are others universal spacers available in nolathene & rubber. In theory the rubber ones can be fitted without removing the strut.

Tiguan might've been a better option.
It's just a jacked up Golf, essentially.

Why do you want to raise a Golf? just buy a Tiguan or the Alltrack version
