Don I found the debug file.
Everything has been reset to how it was before I started so unsure what the issue is.
Thanks,

Hi Don,
Thanks for getting back to me.
The original headlamps are completely Incandescent.
My Chinese (more likely "R" Style as have swiping led indicators) headlamps have 3 H7 Incandescent bulbs, one is main beam, one is low beam and the other is a "dummy" cornering bulb. The DRL hoops and indicators are both LED.
I shall try as you suggested a bit later on.....I'm feeling confident about this new change to have suggested.
If you give me your PayPal email I want to send you a donation for your help so far bud!
Cheers,
Rick

Don,
It appears that the low beams never came on in position 0, auto or sidelight.
I have 100% reverted all changes I made via VCDS.
However I have found that adjusting leuchte3SL VRB21 - DIMMWERT CD 3 from 0 to 100 fixed the dimming LED issue....both "hoops" stay fully illuminated now.
So.........my issue now is how do I get the low beam/parking light bulb to come on as it should?
Or am I being thick here.......is the low beam/parking light bulb not meant to come on? Do the DRLs act as the low beam on these style lamps?
Thanks,
Rick
Rick: Well done!!
As to your question about the "Low beam/Parking light" - the standard arrangement for Rest of World (RoW) model mk7s that are fitted with incandescent headlight assemblies is for the DRL/Parking light bulb to be not-illuminated when the Low-beam lights are switched-on. This happens in mk7s that are sold down here but it also happens in the BCM adaptation maps that I have in my database for a few UK mk7s with factory fitted incandescent DRLs.
The reason for this behavior is that the reflector in the DRL cavity (it's called the "luminaire") in incandescent headlight fittings does not have the correct cut-off characteristics for night-time driving. So, if incandescent DRLs were illuminated at night - they would blind the driver in on-coming vehicles (especially if the illumination level of the DRL was high).
However, whilst I'm more than happy that you have fixed the flicker problem, I'm a bit confused by the method that you have used (I don't intend any offense in saying this).
As I have said in my previous suggestion, the standard Leuchte-sets for factory fitted incandescent DRLs is:
Leuchte5 TFL RB32 (right-side) and Leuchte4TFL LB4 (left-side)
The Leuchte-set that you have used to fix the problem is Leuchte3SL VRB21. This Leuchte-set is also used in factory fitted DRL assemblies by VW, but the Leuchte-set is normally only activated when the car is factory fitted with "angel-eyes" (i.e. the "U" shaped lights inside the headlight assembly) which have LED lamps. This Leuchte-set is normally not activated in the BCM for standard incandescent headlight cars.
The other odd aspect of your fix is that Leuchte3SL VRB21 normally only controls the right-side angel-eye and you haven't made the same change to the left-side angel-eye Leuchte-set (which is Leuchte2SL VLB10 for angel-eye fittings). All a bit confusing - but if the fix works on your car, then it's all that's needed
Anyhow, as to how to change the Low-beam behavior of the DRL, the Leuchte-command that determines that the DRL will turn-off when the low-beams are switched-on is Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht). You could look through the active Leuchte-set for your retrofitted LED DRLs for this command and change it to Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht). This should be done for the Leuchte-sets for both sides of the car (whatever these Leuchte-sets are on your vehicle)

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
Hi Don,
My headlamps do have the "double u" led drls fitted (just like originals).
Sorry I forgot to mention I also adjusted VLB10 aswell as VRB21.
So everything seems to be working as it should right now....I think?!!
I'm guna run the car Down to have someone verify the lamps are MOT passable.
Thanks for all your help so far DON, your very knowledgeable.
Cheers,
Rick
Don,
Garage has confirmed my lamps are good!!
