'Key not found'

Hey guys, jumped in my car this afternoon and an error message came up on the dash saying 'key not found'. It unlocked fine and the key was in my pocket where it usually is.

The message disappeared after a few seconds and the car started. The car is a month old MY16 GTI PP.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

Can only think there might be an issue with remote battery. Similarly have month old MY16 GTI PP

I used to have an issue with another car. If my phone was next to the key, the key signal would be blocked. If you had them in the same pocket/hand, etc, this may be your problem.

Thanks. I can't remember where my phone was at the time but that does seem like a possibility. I might use the normal key for the rest of the week and see if it happens again. If it does I'll change to the spare.
